How to count the days between two dates
Choose a start date and an end date and the result appears instantly. You’ll see the total number of days, the same period in weeks and days, an approximate number of months and years, and how many of those days are weekdays (Monday to Friday) or weekend days.
By default the count doesn’t include the end date, which is how most people count durations (from Monday to Tuesday is 1 day). If you need to count both the first and the last day, for example for a hotel stay or an event, tick Include the end date.

Examples
- From January 1 to December 31 of a regular year: 364 days (365 including the end date).
- 90 days after September 27, 2026 is December 26, 2026.
- Business days are useful for delivery times, legal deadlines and project planning. Keep in mind that public holidays are not subtracted.
Frequently asked questions
Does the calculator count leap years?
Yes. It uses the real calendar, so February 29 is counted in leap years.
Are public holidays excluded from business days?
No, because holidays change by country and region. Subtract them manually if you need an exact count of working days.
Can the end date be before the start date?
Yes. The calculator will show the difference as a positive number of days either way.
