Mental Age Test: How Old Is Your Mind?

10 questions about your habits. Be honest: nobody is watching.

What is “mental age”?

The term mental age was first used in the early 1900s by the French psychologist Alfred Binet, who created one of the first intelligence tests for children. In that original sense, it compared a child’s abilities with what was typical at each age. Today the expression is used much more casually: people talk about their mental age to describe whether their habits, tastes and attitude feel younger or older than their real age.

This quiz uses that everyday meaning. It looks at your routines (sleep, money, music, technology) and turns your answers into a playful number. It does not measure intelligence or maturity, and it is not a psychological assessment.

Is it good to have an older or younger mental age?

Neither is better. A “younger” result usually reflects spontaneity, curiosity and a taste for novelty; an “older” one points to calm, routine and planning. Most people move between both depending on the week. Share your result and see how your friends compare. Grandparents with a mental age of 20 are more common than you think.
