How to use the age calculator
Enter your date of birth and press Calculate age. By default the calculator uses today’s date, but you can change the second date to find out how old you were (or will be) on any day: a wedding, a graduation or the day you retire.
How your exact age is calculated
The calculator counts full years first, then the full months that have passed since your last birthday, and finally the remaining days. Because months have different lengths (28 to 31 days), the day count uses the real length of the previous month, just like you would count on a calendar. Leap years are handled automatically.
Example: someone born on March 15, 2000 is exactly 26 years, 6 months and 12 days old on September 27, 2026.
Days lived and your next birthday
The total number of days lived is the exact number of calendar days between the two dates. The hours are an approximation (days × 24). The calculator also tells you how many days are left until your next birthday, the day of the week it falls on, and your Western zodiac sign.
Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate my age in months?
Multiply your full years by 12 and add the months since your last birthday. The calculator shows this total automatically under “months in total”.
What if I was born on February 29?
In non-leap years, this calculator counts your new year of age on February 28, the last day of February. Some countries use March 1 for legal purposes instead.
Is my date of birth saved?
No. The calculation happens entirely in your browser and nothing is sent or stored.
